As deterrence to crime and violence by young people, RIHD Youth Initiative program was established in 2009 from it's parent organization Resource Information Help for the Disadvantaged (RIHD, Inc.).   

In 2010 RIHD Youth Initiative was awarded a Center by the Minority Youth Appreciation Society (MYAS). RIHD Youth Initiative mission and goal is to build self esteem, improve academics, introduction to non-traditional athletic, nutritional education and community service.

Excited, RIHD Youth Initiative continues to work diligently towards reopening and renewing the former

MYAS Center during late 2011. A year round (after-school, weekend and summer) center for at-risk youth

 from economically disadvantaged household, residing within the Richmond East-end community.
