MISSION & PURPOSE
RIHD Youth is a non-profit, all volunteer group dedicated towards providing needed services and programs through innovative approaches deterring criminal behavior to at-risk young people residing in high-crime, high-risk communities, and/or with an incarcerated parent/provider.
Our goal is to provide a year-round youth after-care enrichment program providing introductory non-traditional sports, motivated literacy, life experiences and community service with a nurturing and structured team environment to young people from economically disadvantaged households throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.
ADVOCACY
RIHD Youth provides information, referrals to and for youth and their families as a deterrence and preventive to drugs, gang activity and crime activities.
As members with the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, we serve on the Richmond Gang Reduction and Intervention Program (GRIP) Prevention and Reentry Committees; collaborating between the cities, federal, state and local partners focusing on reducing gang activity in targeted neighborhoods.
If you don't have the time to volunteer, consider making a donation today to help open the doors to RIHD Youth Initiative Aftercare Center. Donations $25 or more are tax-deductible to you. Thank you in advance.
